The remainder of your adventure will be in the magnificent Yunnan Province where you'll visit 5 distinct and uniquely different regions that comprise over 20 minority subcultures. Be sure to bring your camera as the southern provinces and Shangri-la region boast some fantastic landscapes and colourful people.

Day 1
On arrival to Shanghai you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to the hotel. Please note no meals have been arranged for today.
Day 2
Today you’ll visit the Jade Buddha Temple and admire the beautiful Yuyuan Gardens in Shanghai’s old city quarters. In the afternoon stroll along the Bund to study the architecture of the waterfront promenade and snap up a bargain in the busy markets around Nanjing Road. Tonight you’ll partake in a BBQ style dinner before going to the world-famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show. (BLD)
Day 3
This morning you’ll discover the Pudong Development Area and gain an eagle’s eye view from the Oriental Pearl Tower. Later take a relaxing cruise on the Huangpu River and enjoy an evening free to explore the city or take in some retail therapy in the many markets and shopping centres. (BL)
Day 4
Today you’ll depart on a flight to Kunming, which is renowned for it’s spring-like climate all year round. You’ll be greeted at the airport by your local guide and transferred to the hotel. Relax until the afternoon when we’ve arranged for you to visit the World Horticultural Expo Park. This evening has been left free for you to explore Kunming’s nightlife and shopping centres. (BL)
Day 5
After breakfast you’ll embark on a tour and trek through the abstract rock formations of the Stone Forest. Later you’ll return to Kunming to relax until dinner when you’ll enjoy a feast of traditional Yunnan dishes. (BLD)
Day 6
Depart Kunming and fly to Dali where you’ll be met by your local guide and transferred to the hotel. Later enjoy a relaxing cruise on Erhai Lake and visit a Bai minority fishing village. Also visit the Three Pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and Dali Museum. (BL)
Day 7
In the morning transfer to Xizhou to visit the Morning Markets and also enjoy a traditional Tea Ceremony and Performance by the Bai minority people. Next you travel to Zhouchen to visit the Tie-dye village known for its white and blue patterned clothing. Also check out the beautiful Butterfly Spring Park before returning to Dali. (BL)
Day 8
This morning depart Dali on a coach journey to discover the beauty and history of the well-preserved city of Lijiang. On arrival, you’ll be met by your local guide and transferred to the hotel. In the afternoon you’ll visit Black Dragon Pond, Dongba Museum and Mufu Palace. Relax in the evening and better acquaint yourself with the 800-year-old town and its unspoilt beauty. (BL)
Day 9
Visit Jade Dragon Snow Mountain where you’ll catch a cable car up to the mountaintop glacier to enjoy stunning views of the alpine ecosystem. After lunch you’ll visit Yufeng Monastery and authentic Yuhu Naxi village. For the remainder of the day, check out the many cafes and restaurants within the old town and shop for arts and crafts made by the local minority people. (BL)
Day 10
After breakfast travel to a remote village where you’ll meet the Mosou people - China’s only remaining matriarchal ethnic minority. Later that afternoon you’ll arrive in Lugu and transfer to your accommodation^. In the evening be entertained with a program of traditional dancing and singing around a bonfire. (BLD)
Day 11
Today includes a tour and cruise around the vast expanses of the pristine Lugu Lake. This plateau lake lies between Yunnan and Sichuan provinces and spans an area of 52 sq. km. You’ll also visit Mosou Museum and later return to Lijiang. (BL)
Day 12
Farewell Lijiang and head for the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge. Measuring nearly 4000 metres in height it’s one of the deepest in the world. Next you’ll pass through Stone Drum County before arriving in Zhongdian - the heart of the Shangri-la. After checking in to your hotel you’ll take a tour around the old city of Zhongdian. (BL)
Day 13
This morning you’ll tour the 300 year-old Songzanlin Tibetan Monastery and the scenic surrounds of beautiful Napahai Lake. Time permitting, we’ll introduce you to a Tibetan family for an opportunity to learn their way of life. (BL)
Day 14
Depart the Shangri-la region and transfer to the airport for a flight to Kunming where you can connect with an onward flight. (B)
