Suggested Itinerary

Day 1

On arrival to Shanghai Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Please note no meals have been arranged for this day.

Day 2

In the morning visit the Jade Buddha Temple and admire the peaceful Yuyuan Gardens in Shanghai’s old city quarters. Afterwards, take a stroll along the Bund to study the architecture of the waterfront promenade and snap up a bargain in the busy markets of nearby Nanjing Road. In the evening enjoy a BBQ style dinner and cap off your day with a breath-taking performance by the Shanghai Acrobatic Show. (BLD)

Day 3

Travel by road from Shanghai to Wuzhen Water Village. Lying on the Grand Canal, Wuzhen has retained its old world charm and traditional lifestyle. Continue on to Hangzhou to visit the Lingyin Temple and have an overnight stay in Hangzhou. (BL)

Day 4

This morning, you’ll take a cruise on the beautiful West Lake - another national treasure of China. You’ll then visit the Liuhe Pagoda Museum before touring one of the many splendid Tea Plantations. Here you’ll gain a wonderful insight into the culture of tea and have an opportunity to sample some of China’s finest brews. Tonight you’ll partake in a specialty dinner local to Hangzhou. (BLD)

Day 5

Journey to the magnificent Yellow Mountain (Huangshan) to experience the postcard sceneries of this pristine region. Tour the age-old villages that surround the mountain and admire the elegance of Hongcun and Tunxi Villages. Tonight you’ll stay^ in a village at the foot of Yellow Mountain. (BL)

Day 6

After breakfast you’ll catch a cable car to the top of Yellow Mountain and check in to your hotel^. Your guide will then escort you on some mountain excursions to enjoy the many vantage points and sensational views. Enjoy a wonderful night’s stay on the Mountain. (BLD)

Day 7

Wake a little earlier for a chance to view the superb sunrise from this idyllic mountain setting. Afterwards you’ll check out and take the cable car down to the foot of the Mountain. Travel to Nanjing City and venture around the scenic Qinhuai River, the Ming City Wall and the Ming Tomb. Later relax and enjoy a local specialty dinner and an overnight stay in Nanjing. (BLD)

Day 8

Depart Nanjing on a road journey to Wuxi where you’ll explore the beautiful Taihu Lake. Relax in your serene surroundings and stay overnight in Wuxi dining on local cuisine. (BLD)

Day 9

Today you’ll depart Wuxi and head for the wonderful Suzhou, which is renowned for its beautiful stone bridges, pagodas and meticulously maintained gardens. You’ll visit Tiger Hill, the Silk Spinning Factory, Hanshan Temple and the Master of the Nets Garden, which is reported to be the most balanced design of all the gardens in China. (BL)

Day 10

This morning you’ll check out of your hotel and pay a visit to the Humble Administrator’s Garden. Later you’ll return to Shanghai for an afternoon and evening free of activities. This is an ideal time to get in some last minute shopping prior to the end of your tour. (BL)

Day 11

After breakfast check out and transfer to the airport for your onward journey. (B)
